Technical difficulties tend to occur at the least convenient time, this is why we provide after-hours on-sight and remote technical support so your business experiences the least downtime due to technical issues.
The first step of troubleshooting is to power cycle. If your computer suddenly freezes up, reboot it. If your computer suddenly shuts off, check to see if your circuit switch has been tripped. If the first step doesn't work then give us a call and we'll go through some basic troubleshooting steps for free.
In some circumstances computers may suffer from hardware failure or a power outage can corrupt operating system files, these situations require onsite technical assistance. Give us a call and we'll get right around to find the issue and have your systems back in operation as fast as possible.
Firstly, have a look to see if your gateway / modem indicates that the internet is connected. If it doesn't or if there are no lights on then consider giving it a power-cycle (unplug it for 30 seconds then plug it back in. If this fixes the issue your internet should be back up and running in about 5 minutes)
If you're at this next step then it's safe to assume the first step balded no results, using your phone or a device connected to an independent internet connection (i.e. your cellular data) have a look to see if you are experiencing any internet or power outages in your area, if not your next step is to review your account status with your Internet Service Provider.
Should there be no outages and your account is in good financial standing with your ISP, the issue could be a failure with your modem. Give us a call and we'll come around to find the issue and get you back up and running.
If you think your computer is being hacked in real time then turn it off and disconnect it from your network then immediately give us a call. We all use our computers for sensitive tasks like banking, stock trading and emails... so it's imperative you give us a call so we can review your computer for signs of an intrusion.
If you think your computer has been hacked, do not connect it to the internet until it's been deemed safe. Unless you have significant technical experience it's really best to get the experts in to handle this for you.
